Ocean plastic for thermal insulation

Ocean bound plastics constitute a big risk for the environment; they make up as much as 80% of plastic pollution in the oceans. The new product, Ecodown Fibers Ocean, is Ocean Cycle-certified and made at Thermore’s state-of-the-art production site in Hong Kong. It is very soft and highly resistant to clumping, as are all Ecodown Fibers from Thermore SpA, Milan/Italy.
Ecodown has traditionally been the sustainable alternative to down feathers. The Ecodown product line has fully recycled content, derived exclusively from PET water bottles. This allows the reuse of a considerable number of bottles, which would have otherwise ended their useful life as waste in a landfill. Depending on the application, outerwear insulated with Ecodown can save up to 10 bottles per garment.
The Ecodown 100% recycled thermal insulation does not require special quilting restrictions or fabrics and can be washed and/or dry cleaned with confidence.

This high level of durability equates to exceptional, long-term warmth over the life of a garment. A wide variety of weights and thickness options (over 10 variations) cater to every possible design requirement.
The new Ecodown offers a smart option to real down feathers and is a high-performance, 100% sustainable synthetic that offers total freedom of design.
The company is also increasing the content of recycled fibers to 75% on its Thermore Classic thermal insulation.
