ITMA 2023 returns to Milan/Italy as the leading global sourcing exhibition dedicated to latest textile and garment technologies and solutions. The ITMA, which will be held on June 8-14, 2023, will feature over 1,600 exhibitors from 44 countries. This event is THE place to meet key decision-makers from the top textile and garment producers and leading brand owners, gather market intelligence and forge collaborative partnerships.

Transforming the world of textiles – that is this year's ITMA motto. What is your response to this? What is the motto of your trade show participation?
As an industry-leading company, we are working on new solutions to help our customers meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. Sahm’s investments in digital technologies and automation enable our customers to increase the efficiency and transparency of their processes while improving quality. Our Motto for ITMA is “Sahm Winding Solutions – the Next Level”.
With that motto we want to tell people that Sahm is committed to taking winding processes into new areas and to expanding the functionality and the convenience of how winding takes place.

What is the most interesting topic/technology you will present at the ITMA?
We will demonstrate our automatic precision cross winder Twinstar II with flexible traverse functionality. This will give our customers more flexibility and technical capabilities. We will also show new solutions for the transport and handling of bobbins for a 24/7 workflow, and last but not least we introduce our new service platform. These software-based solutions will provide Sahm customers transparency regarding their machines at all locations and facilitate faster responses when troubleshooting is required.

What do you hope/expect from the ITMA 2023?
After the pandemic we look forward to seeing our customers, partners and friends personally again. We really enjoy the talks and exchange with our visitors and invite everybody to visit our stand in Hall 3, Stand B101.

From ITMA we always get new ideas and challenges which help to bring our company forward.

What are the biggest challenges for the textile industry right now?
The textile industry is constantly changing, and to remain competitive, companies must be ready to adapt and innovate. Digital technologies and automation play a critical role, not only optimizing production processes and reducing costs, but also enabling greater flexibility and speed.

Our goal is not only to support our customers, but also to have a positive impact on the industry. We want to drive development and open multiple doorways to innovation. That is why we devote substantial resources to developing new solutions – of course to serve our customers, but also to advance the textile industry as a whole.

The interview was conducted by our TextileTechnology team with Jochen Zaun, Managing Director of Georg Sahm GmbH & Co. KG, Eschwege/Germany.
