ITMA, the world’s largest international textile and garment technology exhibition, which will be held on June 8-14, 2023, in Milan/Italy, will feature over 1,600 exhibitors from 44 countries. The ITMA is the place to meet key decision-makers from the top textile and garment producers and leading brand owners, gather market intelligence and forge collaborative partnerships.

Transforming the world of textiles - that is this year's ITMA motto. What is your response to this? What is the motto of your trade show participation?
“Intelligent”, “efficient” and “sustainable” – these are keywords that describe Trützschler’s answers to driving the transformation of the textile industry. Every day, even beyond the ITMA.
Our intelligent and automated solutions ensure high efficiency, for example through increased productivity, better raw material utilization and reduced energy consumption. In addition, intelligent fiber processing is a key part of our philosophy. Digital solutions, such as our mill monitoring system “My Mill”, are the way to realize it: They complement our intelligent machinery by enabling customers to bundle resources and optimize processes with little effort.
Trützschler also stands for circularity in the textile value chain. We are pioneers in the recycling of textile waste. Our technologies empower our customers to achieve maximum quality when processing secondary fibers from textile (hard) waste.

What is the most interesting topic/technology you will present at the ITMA?
Spinning customers in particular can look forward to a new era in carding, draw frame and combing, as well as big news in textile recycling. Another highlight is the cooperation of Trützschler Nonwovens with the Italian company Texnology S.l.r. Together, we offer customized needle-punching lines. Of course, there will be many more surprises and highlights from all business units – Spinning, Card Clothing, Nonwovens and Man-Made Fibers – for our customers.

What do you hope/expect from the ITMA 2023?
We are excited to finally meet many customers and partners from all over the world again – and to learn about their requirements and discuss latest trends of the textile industry.

What are the biggest challenges for the textile industry right now?
We see challenges – but also great potential – in sustainability, especially in textile recycling. Less than one percent of post-consumer textiles are recycled in a closed loop. We are taking a big step forward, for example with our proven intelligent card TC 19i for Recycling. Specially designed to produce high-quality sliver from textile waste, it makes the most of recycled material. Our unique sensor technology (Wastecontrol) avoids good fiber waste in blow room and carding. In this way, yarn manufacturers can make progress towards their sustainability goals while staying ahead of increasing regulatory pressure and consumer demand for eco-friendly products.
