Producing flooring from recycled plastic for a wide range of applications, a new velour loom from Andritz started up at Foss Floors at the beginning of 2023. This new 5.3 m loom, type SDV, will enable Foss Manufacturing Company LLC, Rome, GA/USA, to meet the growing demand for high-quality products. Every year the company reuses over 18 million kg of plastic to make its floor coverings, which translates into 2 billion plastic bottles recycled into carpet.
This is the 2nd velour loom supplied to Foss Floors by Andritz AG, Graz/Austria, a leading supplier of nonwovens production technologies, with a full range of needling technologies, including velour equipment, which allows customers to address a variety of applications such as automotive, household, flooring, acoustics, geotextiles, filtration, and synthetic leather.
